ABOUT THE JCB 3T-2
The JCB 3T-2 is a robust articulated site dumper designed to transport soil, aggregate, rubble and construction materials efficiently.
Its front-tip skip carries loads of up to 3,000 kg, while the four-wheel-drive hydrostatic transmission provides dependable traction and straightforward control across typical construction-site terrain.
The articulated chassis gives the machine excellent manoeuvrability, and its approximately 1.65-metre overall width allows it to operate effectively where access is limited.
Operator-safety features include a folding Roll-Over Protective Structure, seatbelt interlock, drive-inhibit system and tilt warning system.
FAQs
How much can the dumper carry?
The JCB 3T-2 has a maximum rated payload of 3,000 kg. The payload must not be exceeded, and the material should be distributed evenly within the skip.
What type of skip does it have?
This specification is based on the front-tip version, which discharges material directly ahead of the machine.
Can it carry concrete?
Yes. It can transport suitable quantities of mixed concrete, provided the total load remains within its capacity and the skip is cleaned immediately after use.
Is it suitable for uneven ground?
The four-wheel-drive system and articulated chassis make it suitable for typical construction-site terrain. It must still be operated cautiously, particularly on slopes, soft ground and uneven surfaces.
Can it be driven on steep slopes?
Only within the manufacturer’s operating limits and following an appropriate site assessment. Loads, gradients, ground conditions and travel direction all affect stability.
Do I need experience to operate it?
Yes. The dumper must only be operated by someone who is trained, competent and authorised to use the machine.
NEED HELP CHOOSING?
Our team is here to help you find the right machine for your project.
Does the operator need to wear a seatbelt?
Yes. The seatbelt must be worn whenever the machine is being operated. It works with the ROPS to protect the operator in the event of an overturn.
Can passengers ride on the dumper?
No. The machine is designed for one operator only. Passengers must never travel on the seat, steps, bodywork or inside the skip.
Can it be driven on public roads?
Only if the machine, driver, insurance, registration, lighting and other legal requirements are fully compliant. Standard plant hire does not automatically authorise road use.
Can I load it onto my own trailer?
Only if the towing vehicle, trailer and ramps are suitably rated for the machine’s operating weight. The combined transport weight must be calculated before collection.
Is fuel included?
Fuel arrangements will be confirmed when booking. The dumper should be returned with the agreed fuel level and only the correct diesel should be used.
Can you deliver it to site?
Yes. Due to its size and weight, suitable plant transport will normally be required. Build Compound provides delivery across Yorkshire, subject to location and availability.
What happens if the dumper breaks down?
Park and isolate the machine safely before contacting Build Compound. Do not attempt to dismantle or repair it yourself. We will provide assistance and arrange a solution as quickly as possible.
