ABOUT THE 1" × 15" KANGO CHISEL
The 1-inch by 15-inch Kango chisel is a hardened breaker-steel attachment designed for controlled demolition and general breaking work.
Its narrow 25 mm cutting edge concentrates the breaker’s impact into a smaller area, making it suitable for cutting into concrete, breaking masonry and clearing joints or material from confined areas.
The approximately 380 mm length provides useful working reach while maintaining effective transfer of impact energy from the breaker to the material.
This attachment is designed for compatible Kango 900 and 950-series machines fitted with a 21 mm hex tool holder.
FAQs
Is the breaker included?
No. This hire item is the chisel attachment only. A compatible Kango breaker, transformer and extension lead can be hired separately.
Will it fit every Kango 900 or 950?
No. Different versions of the Kango 900 and 950 use different tool fittings, including 21 mm hex, ¾-inch hex, spline and SDS Max. The precise breaker model and tool holder must be checked before use.
What materials can it break?
It is suitable for general breaking and chiselling in concrete, masonry, brick and stone.
What does the 1-inch measurement mean?
It refers to the approximate width of the chisel’s cutting edge, equivalent to around 25 mm.
What does the 15-inch measurement mean?
It refers to the chisel’s approximate overall length, equivalent to around 380 mm.
When should I use a narrow chisel?
A narrow chisel is useful when you need focused breaking force, controlled material removal or access to a relatively confined area.
NEED HELP CHOOSING?
Our team is here to help you find the right machine for your project.
Would a wide chisel be more suitable?
A wide chisel is generally better for removing tiles, render, screed and surface coatings. A narrow chisel is better for concentrated breaking in concrete and masonry.
Can the chisel be sharpened?
Do not grind, heat, weld or otherwise modify a hired chisel. Contact Build Compound if the cutting edge becomes excessively worn or damaged.
What PPE should I wear?
Suitable eye, hearing, respiratory, hand and foot protection should be worn. Flying fragments, silica dust, noise and vibration must all be controlled.
Can you deliver the chisel and breaker to site?
Yes. Build Compound provides local delivery across Yorkshire, subject to location and availability.
What should I do if the chisel cracks or becomes damaged?
Stop work immediately, switch off the breaker and remove the attachment when safe to do so. Isolate the chisel and contact Build Compound. A cracked, bent or heavily worn chisel must not be used.
