ABOUT THE DRI-EAZ BD1000
The Dri-Eaz BD1000 is a professional portable dehumidifier designed for structural drying, construction projects and water-damage restoration.
The machine draws damp air across a refrigerated coil, condensing the moisture before returning drier air to the room. Its automatic pump-out system removes the collected water through a drainage hose, allowing prolonged operation without manually emptying a tank.
A durable rotomoulded housing protects the machine in demanding site conditions. Large wheels, a sturdy handle and built-in loading skids make transportation and positioning more practical.
For effective drying, the dehumidifier should normally be used in an enclosed area with suitable air circulation and controlled ventilation.
FAQs
How much water can it remove?
The maximum stated extraction rate is up to 48 litres per day under high-humidity test conditions. A more representative rated figure is 25 litres per day at 27°C and 60% relative humidity.
Does it have a water-collection tank?
No. The BD1000 uses an automatic condensate pump to discharge collected water through a drainage hose.
Where should the drainage hose go?
It should be routed to a suitable drain or container without kinks, restrictions or trip hazards. The outlet must remain secure throughout operation.
Does it plug into a normal domestic socket?
This hire model uses a 110V, 16A site connection and requires a suitable 110V transformer or site supply. A transformer can be added to your hire.
How long will it take to dry a room?
Drying time depends on the room size, temperature, humidity, ventilation, construction materials and severity of the moisture. Significant water damage may require several machines and continuous operation.
Should doors and windows be open?
Normally, doors and windows should remain closed so the machine can repeatedly process the air within the affected space. Any ventilation strategy should form part of the overall drying plan.
NEED HELP CHOOSING?
Our team is here to help you find the right machine for your project.
Will heating make it work faster?
Maintaining a suitable temperature can improve evaporation and refrigerant-dehumidifier performance. Heaters must be positioned safely and should not be directed closely at the machine.
Should I also use an air mover?
An air mover can improve circulation across damp walls, floors and ceilings, helping moisture evaporate more efficiently for the dehumidifier to collect.
Can it dry plaster and screed?
Yes. It can assist with drying plaster, screed, concrete, timber and decorated surfaces. Manufacturer curing requirements must still be followed to avoid drying materials too quickly.
Can it be used after flooding?
Yes, but the electrical supply and building must first be confirmed safe. Contaminated floodwater may also require specialist cleaning and remediation before drying begins.
Can the dehumidifier be laid down for transport?
It should be kept upright during transport and operation. If it has been tilted or laid down, do not switch it on until Build Compound has confirmed the correct procedure.
Can you deliver the drying equipment?
Yes. Build Compound provides local delivery across Yorkshire, subject to location and availability.
What should I do if the machine stops pumping water?
Switch it off and check that the drainage hose is not kinked or blocked. If the problem continues, contact Build Compound and do not open or attempt to repair the machine.
