ABOUT THE EPIROC SB 152

The Epiroc SB 152 is a compact hydraulic breaker designed for compatible excavators within the 1.9 to 4.5-tonne carrier class.
Its solid-body construction combines the percussion mechanism and casing into a compact unit, helping reduce the number of components while providing dependable performance in demanding site conditions.
With an impact rate of up to 1,900 blows per minute, the SB 152 is suitable for breaking concrete, asphalt, masonry and rock. Its slim profile also makes it useful when working close to walls, inside excavations or within narrow trenches.
The breaker must be matched correctly to the excavator’s hydraulic flow, pressure, hitch and operating weight before use.

FAQs

It is designed for compatible excavators weighing approximately 1.9 to 4.5 tonnes. Carrier weight alone does not guarantee compatibility—the hydraulic system, hitch and couplings must also be checked.
Potentially. Compatibility depends on the particular SANY model, hydraulic flow, operating pressure, hitch dimensions and coupling arrangement. These details must be confirmed when booking.
The SB 152 requires approximately 25–45 litres per minute at an operating pressure of 100–150 bar.
The normal hire package can include the breaker, compatible mounting bracket, hydraulic hoses and a selected working tool. The precise package will be confirmed for your excavator.
A moil point is suitable for concentrated breaking in hard material. A chisel provides a defined cutting edge for asphalt, slabs and controlled demolition.
Yes, it can break suitable reinforced concrete. Exposed reinforcement may require separate cutting equipment, and the work must be appropriately planned.

NEED HELP CHOOSING?

Our team is here to help you find the right machine for your project.

Yes. It is suitable for breaking certain rock and hard ground. Productivity will depend on the rock type, condition and fracture pattern.
No. If the material does not break after a short period, reposition the tool. Prolonged hammering in one location can create excess heat and unnecessary wear.
Blank firing occurs when the breaker operates without firm contact between the tool and the material. This can damage the breaker and must be avoided.
No. The working tool must not be used to prise, lift or push material. Side-loading can bend the tool and damage the breaker.
Yes. The work area must be checked for electricity cables, gas pipes, water mains, drainage and other services before breaking begins.
The operator should work inside the excavator’s protective structure. Everyone else must remain outside the designated exclusion zone and use appropriate hearing, eye, respiratory, head and foot protection.
Yes. Build Compound provides compatible plant packages and delivery across Yorkshire, subject to location and availability.
Stop the excavator, lower the attachment safely and isolate the machine before contacting Build Compound. Do not disconnect, dismantle or repair hydraulic components yourself.
